e l u̯ e t i̯o s
e l u̯ e t i̯o s (pronounced elvetios) is an association with the purpose to preserve Switzerland's economical and ecological interests for the generations to come.
e l u̯ e t i̯o s originates from the earliest attestation of the name Helvetia, found in a graffito on a vessel from Mantua, dated to c. 300 BC. The inscription in Etruscan letters reads eluveitie, which has been interpreted as the Etruscan form of the Celtic e l u̯ e t i̯o s ("Helvetian"), presumably referring to a man of Helvetian descent.
